National Ju Jitsu Federation of America Council of Soke

The National Ju Jitsu Federation of America endorses the art of Ju Jitsu. We believe in and practice thought, imagination and expansion in Ju Jitsu and foster an atmosphere of support and recognition. For this purpose, the NJJF has established a Council of Soke to validate, endorse and sanction systems and styles of Ju Jitsu that have been developed through intense training and development by it's founder.

The NJJF Council of Soke is comprised of the members of the NJJF who have both traditional and contemporary training and knowledge. The Council has practitioners that hold rank and recognition in valid styles of Ju Jitsu, Karate and other accredited Martial Arts.

The NJJF offers to it's members the privilege and opportunity to have their system validated and sanctioned through the NJJF Council of Soke. The process entails the applicant to first be a Life Member of NJJF, hold a minimum rank of Godan (5th Degree Black Belt) in an NJJF endorsed style/system, a minimum of two (2) additional Dan rankings in other accredited Martial Arts (must provide proof of all Dan grades), a written description of the Ranking System, Requirements up to and including Yondan (4th Degree Black Belt), a video tape presentation of all required techniques and provide at least three Letters of Endorsement from members of the Martial Arts community who hold legitimate Instructor status in their system.

Once reviewed by the NJJF Council of Soke, a determination will be made to either endorse or have the applicant prove the system in person with an authorized member of the Council of Soke.
